This increases the resistance of intergranular corrosion without the use of stabilizers such as columbium (niobium) or titanium. Strength of this low-carbon alloy; however, may not be as great at elevated temperatures as that of the columbium (niobium)-stabilized alloys or 309. ER309L is preferred over ER309 for cladding over carbon or low alloy steels, as well as for dissimilar joints that undergo heat treatment.

Feature

Minimal carbon not greater than .02% to protect against corosion.
Ideal for buttered passes and overlay work.
Typically used to weld 309 series stainless steels.
Has the same qualities as ER309 but with the lower carbon content deemed necessary in many chemical applications.
Preferred over ER309 for cladding over carbon or low alloy steels, or dissimilar joints that are heat treated.

Shipping Policy Exceptions

Not all products qualify for the above Shipping Policy. Additionally, standard shipping rates apply for all orders delivered to Alaska and Hawaii. Any charges incurred for hazardous materials or other special handling by the carrier must be paid by the customer. Fuel surcharges may also be applied.

International and P.O. Box Orders

Welding & Industrial Supplies only accepts orders for shipments within the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii. Orders to international destinations will not be processed (see “International Shipping” section). Welding & Industrial Supplies does not ship to P.O. Box addresses.

Return Goods Authorization (RGA) Policy

Though all sales are final, Welding & Industrial Supplies accepts returns for 60 days from the invoice date for specific reasons and with certain stipulations per return reason, on a case-by-case basis.
Special orders or customized items are not returnable and such orders cannot be canceled once placed.
Only returns with assigned RGA numbers will be processed.
Shipping charges are non-refundable.
